All Alaska hunts are wilderness, fly-in hunts that we spent our hard earned money to finance. These are unguided, un-sponsored hunts. You will not see kill after kill (that doesn't happen on real hunts). What you will see is one full hour of bowhunting adventure for each of the hunts. All hunts are real and full of adventure but do not all result in kills. Since we were trophy hunting, we passed shot opportunities which sometimes caused us to come home empty, but that's bowhunting.

After you watch these videos you will feel like you have hunted with us. They show the whole hunt, the good times and the bad, the joy and the frustration.

We took 3 Pope & Young bulls, but we were frozen out on one trip, flooded out on another and set upon by thieves on another. See what happened to us in 1992 when we got caught during the coldest September ever recorded in Alaska. We had to survive 20 degrees below zero at night in just a tent (and this was still summer). Watch our 1994 hunt as a huge record book bull moose wheeled around facing us at 11 yards threatening to charge. On our 1998 hunt, the biggest bull moose that we saw battled with two other bulls before meeting his fate with us. All three monster moose were taken with bow and arrow at 15 yards or less. The bull taken in 1992 was the second largest bull taken with bow in the state of Alaska that year. The one taken in 1994 was the No. 1 archery moose for that year in Alaska. The one taken in 1998 was larger than either of the other two. These moose hunts were featured in articles in "Bowhunter Magazine" and "Traditional Bowhunter Magazine". (To see copies of these stories, click on a title (below) or on the "Stories" link at the left of this page).

"Moose on Ice" is about the 1992 hunt.

"Monarchs of Mystic Lake" is about all 3 Mystic Lake Moose hunts.

If you are thinking of hunting for moose or caribou in Alaska, these will give you a good idea of what it's like and what could happen. You will learn a lot from our successes and from our mistakes. These videos are great entertainment and a good source of information on wilderness hunting. You will watch these videos over and over again.
