#A354. Hunt Trophy Mule Deer and Whitetail During the Rutting Season
If you are for a couple of large antlers for your trophy wall...
Here you will go after the two most sought-after species of trophy deer during the best time of the season; the rut.
You will hunt mule deer on the mountain ridges and tops, while whitetail bucks are located down in the valleys, where rich farmland provide them with year around food. The deer population in South-Central BC has registered an incredible development during the past few years both number wise, and size wise. Whitetail deer are becoming plentiful, and can be seen in the fields everywhere, day or night.
As for the other big game species in British Columbia, when it comes to big game animals there are only two sizes available; "large" and "extra large". Expect trophy whitetail deer in the 130 to 140 Pope and Young class, and mule deer in the 150 to 180 Pope and Young class range.
